Pumpkin in garden and lit

What have you been using that garden room for? Is it your office? Is it a place for you to do yoga without the neighbours seeing? A lot of people have a lot of uses for garden rooms in the summer. Now, unfortunately, we are heading into grizzle and drizzle. But don’t worry, the kids are excited for Halloween and Christmas.

Great!

Perhaps there is something you can do with your garden room over Halloween. Here are some ideas.

Use it in your Halloween party

Let’s be honest. Adults enjoy Halloween too. It’s less expensive than Christmas, and you get to dress up in that lobster outfit again. Whilst kids do enjoy going from house to house getting those sweets and chocolates, adults enjoy a good seasonal party.

Your garden room might be the perfect haunted house: Whilst Tommy and Tina are apple bobbing on the veranda, Sian and Sean could be having the fright of their lives in your especially decked out garden room.

It is a good place for your creepy catering: During your carnivorous carnival, people might need a break for some finger food. Our lawyers have advised us to remind you not to use actual fingers though.

How about a nice cosy cinema: Crack out the projector, bring out those glitchy reels, and huddle in close. You could use your garden room to scare the pumpkin spice out of your friends with a movie night.

Or we could make it family friendly

Festivities really should be shared with families and friends. It’s a good idea to include your children during Halloween as they will be slower than you if you’re getting chased by a horde of zombies. You’ll get away much easier. But until that happens, you could use the garden room as a place to celebrate together.

Set up a crafts station for the kids: Having a place for kids to make a mess doesn’t just save your brand-new carpet from 12 litres of PVA glue, it makes the whole thing more magical. Use your garden room as a place of expression.

It’s also a great place for telling spooky stories: Away from the safety and comfort of your house, the kids are more likely to engage with your spooky stories. Your garden room could be a place where you retell stories of horror and fear. You can tell them that one day they’ll have to grow up and get a job, for instance.

Your garden room is good for playing games: Again, possibly to protect your home from glitter and goop, you could turn your garden room into a spooky games room. Hear you can play Halloween themed games like apple bobbing or pin the tale on the black cat. Once again, our lawyers have interjected and asked us to remind you not to use a real cat.

Don’t abandon the garden room

Whilst the garden room may have had more usage in spring and summer, it doesn’t need to become and abandoned ghost house through the colder months. There are lots of uses for it, and it will become a recognised part of your home the more you interact with it.
